Andie Gonzales
Age Group Coach

Andie has been in the swimming pool since she was 8 months old. When she was 13 her parents enrolled her into a summer YMCA swim team program, which is where she found her passion for the sport of competitive swimming. She was the only freshman to make Varsity Swim Team at Poteet HighSchool. Andie continued onto the Mesquite Marlins summer league swim team where she spent hours at the pool. Her first job at 15 was teaching swim lessons, coaching, and lifeguarding for the City ofMesquite. This experience birthed a passion for coaching. Andie has coached gymnastics as well as swimming. Most recently she coached the Cooper Summer Swim Team at Cooper Fitness Center at CraigRanch and helped lead the team to win the Championship. After summer league, she continued coaching a Stroke Clinic at Cooper Fitness Center and has seen success with many of those swimmers moving on to compete at TFA. In July 2016 Coaching for TFA was a personal goal of hers. Andie joined the coaching staff at Texas Ford Aquatics in March 2017.Andie’s coaching philosophy: If you can dream it you can achieve it, the only question is how much are you willing to work and sacrifice for that dream. I believe the mark of a great coach is to take the seemingly weakest athlete and turn them into the strongest leader. When you believe in them; they will begin to believe in themselves, I believe this is the recipe for creating a successful athlete.
